FitBeat a huge success for Emsworth
Sun, silliness and a little something for charity, what more could you want? The first year of FitBeat was hailed a huge success by its participants and sponsors on Saturday.
As the rest of the country celebrated the one year countdown to the London 2012 Olympic Games, Emsworth wasn’t to be outdone and thanks to Innovations Fitness, fun and hilarity was enjoyed by all.
The organisers would like to thank their generous supporters and sponsors Southern Tyre and Battery Service, Quarter 4, Jobsite, Southern Cooperative, Havant Borough Council, Emsworth Business Association, Dragonfly Creative Solutions and Tesco. Without their generous support FitBeat could not have taken place.
Not to mention the fantastic health and fitness gurus that were Gems Dance School, Southern Judokan, Kathryn’s yoga, Emsworth Chiropractic Clinic, Kate Britton Physio, and Claire’s Monday Massage. Alongside the It’s a Knockout and Innovations Fitness bootcamps, Emsworth Park was alive with the sound of laughter and enthusiasm.
Organiser George ‘Topsy’ Turner said, it was great to see everyone getting stuck in and enjoying themselves, that’s what FitBeat is all about…see you in 2012!”
What more stuff to do?!
Yes that’s right!
As if it wasn’t enough that you have an It’s a Knock Out Team Challenge running all afternoon, dance classes, Judo taster sessions, yoga, family bootcamps, children’s bootcamps, adults’ bootcamps, trampolining, giant inflatables, Royal Marine displays, food and drink, a health zone……(really that wasn’t enough?)
….now we also have the fabulous Filarinskis joining us for the day with their amazing climbing wall and fantastic outdoor activity kit.
And just to top it all off, the sun is going to SHINE!
See you at FitBeat, 11am, Emsworth Recreational Ground….don’t forget your trainers!

Judo! Judo! Judo Emsworth!
FitBeat are pleased to announce that adding to the day’s activities will be the fantastic team at Southern Judokan.
Never tried judo before? Well this is your chance. Led by top instructor Michael Pring, the team will be joining us for the day to bring some taster sessions to everyone coming along to FitBeat.
Michael says, “whilst judo can be watched with some interest, to be an armchair Judoka is to miss the point. It’s about doing judo with others – Judo is all about people, learning and life. As professor Kano, the founder of Judo said – it’s not that you are better than someone else that’s important, but that you are better than you were yesterday.”
So what is judo? Well that is a complex question, but in short, it derives from martial art jujutsu and was largely learned for self defence purposes. Michael says that it can best be described as a fighting sport with character building and physical education at the core of it.
For more information, visit their website www.southernjudokan.co.uk or indeed come down on July 23rd and find out more for yourself!
